FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE JSRCC's School of Business and Longwood University's College of Business & Economics Sign Guaranteed Admission Agreement RICHMOND, VA (January 30, 2007) – J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College School of Business Dean Dr. Erica Meredith and Longwood University's College of Business & Economics Dean Dr. James Cross signed an agreement today that provides guaranteed admission to Longwood for Reynolds students. Those who qualify will have obtained a transfer-oriented Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree with at least a 2.5 cumulative grade-point-average. “For a number of years, Longwood University and J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College have enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship created to meet the needs of many outstanding students,” said Meredith. “Now, we have strengthened the partnership between the two schools through a transfer agreement with Longwood University’s College of Business & Economics.” Additionally, transfer students admitted to Longwood’s College of Business & Economics will have the option to complete their degree at the main Longwood campus in Farmville or at the convenient Richmond center located in the Retail Merchants Association building located at 5101 Monument Avenue. “This agreement between Longwood’s College of Business and Economics and Reynolds allows students to transfer seamlessly into Longwood’s College of Business and Economics as juniors and be on equal footing with juniors who began their degree at Longwood,” noted Cross. The guaranteed admission agreement is one of several statewide agreements adopted over the past two years with various public and private senior institutions, including the University of Virginia, The College of William and Mary, Mary Baldwin, Sweet Briar College, the College of Engineering and the College of Agriculture and Life Science at Virginia Tech, and Norfolk State University.
