| | One example of our current success in top-notch workplace training is our nursing program. The nursing shortage is no secret to the health care industry. Our students consistently achieve higher scores on the State Board of Nursing licensing exam for RN's than both the national and state averages. Says Pat Robertson, Chief Operating Officer of St. Mary's Hospital, "the College's nursing graduates are welcome in any shop." Individual student stories also demonstrate the success JSRCC helps people attain. |

Ricca Baker | Ricca Baker is the first person in her family to attend college. Baker chose JSRCC because it offered an excellent program in business administration, was affordable (she's paying her own way), and was close to home. Her JSRCC experience was so positive, she plans to earn a Bachelor's degree and attend graduate school. Baker's eventual goal: to start her own business. | Anthony W. "Toney" Lineberry, Sr., came to JSRCC after a serious auto accident forced him to reevaluate his life and change direction. Lineberry did so well in his two years at JSRCC that he transferred to Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia, on a full scholarship. There, he graduated magna cum laude and then earned his Juris Doctor at the University of Virginia Law School. Lineberry has taught civil law as an adjunct faculty member at JSRCC. He works as a private consultant using his law degree to promote the rights of the disabled and is a motivational speaker and national speaker on highway safety. Lineberry is currently writing his autobiography. "There is nothing I am more proud of than my time at JSRCC," says Lineberry. "In fact, if it were not for JSRCC, there is no way I could have continued my education in the first place." |
