Career Studies Certificate

Purpose: This career studies certificate program provides basic education in general dentistry and also provides a means of supplementing on-the-job training for dental assistants.

 

Occupational Objectives:  Dental assistants can find career opportunities in private practice, state and federal agencies, hospitals, nursing homes, and other comparable health care facilities and agencies.  Positions can also be found in insurance and education.

 

Admission Requirements: General college curricular admission

 

Program Notes: Students taking DNA 135, Dental Radiation Safety, must be at least 18 years old, in compliance with the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Radiation Protection Regulations, 1988.
