Sargeant Reynolds, received your welcome packet, taken placement tests or submitted ACT/SAT scores, and declared your major in HRI before advising registration. GROUP ADVISING SESSIONS are used to advise you on a pathway to success throughout your time at Reynolds and provide you the information you need to be prepared for registration and program requirements. The above programs are all built around HRI prefix courses and require ongoing advising by your faculty advisor. By meeting with your faculty advisor, you will receive permission numbers, which will then enable you to register for HRI courses. Attending a group advising session will enable you to obtain the necessary information to enroll into the respective program. If you are unable to attend one of the group advising sessions, one on one sessions can be scheduled with your respective advisor (please review the advisor layout listed below). One on One sessions will commence AFTER the last Group Advising Session scheduled has been conducted and students are subject to class and schedule availability. Students are divided into two distinct groups for advising: NEW Students and RETURNING Students. See each for the definition to ensure you register for the correct Group Advising Session. NEW STUDENTS include: not completed any labs at Reynolds - First Time Students - Change of Major Students - Students with a Previous College Degree - Transfer Students - ADVISOR: Chef Jesse Miller You will remain a NEW student until you complete your first set of lab classes within the HRI program at Reynolds. NEW Students must register and attend a group advising session in order to enroll for the upcoming semester; register for a NEW student session. Your advising session must occur before officially enrolling into the respective program and in order to obtain permission numbers. If you are a NEW student and do not attend one of the advising sessions, you will begin in general education electives. Permission numbers will not be issued until the first registration meeting for each student class (NEW vs. RETURNING) has commenced. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RETURNING STUDENTS include: must have completed first semester labs - Current Students - Returning students - ADVISOR: Chef Eric Breckoff Returning students must register and attend a group advising session specifically for returning students. To be considered a returning student you must have completed at least one set of Culinary Labs. To register for this session click the following link: Returning Students Advising. If you do NOT meet this criteria, you are considered a New/Transfer students. As a RETURNING Student, you may email your advisor (Chef Breckoff) for permission numbers if you know the courses that you must take to continue on your specific curricular path, please include your Empl ID number, and classes you wish to enroll in the email. PLEASE NOTE, emailed requests will not be issued until AFTER the first Group Advising Session for Returning Students has been conducted. If you choose this option, your specific curricular path to graduation will not have been reviewed to ensure timely graduation. Course selection will be available to those students who attend the advising session first. All email requests will be addressed after the first Returning Group Advising Session has commenced. In the instance that the course section you wish to enroll is enrolled to capacity, your advisor will provide permission numbers to the course that is still available for enrollment. you taken your placement tests yet? If not, have you scheduled an
appointment? Here is the link to the Campus Testing

available to make such a commitment?
