
If English is not your native or primary language, you are required to take the English Language Proficiency test before taking any other placement tests or enrolling in any credit course in the college.
You must take the English Language Proficiency test, even if
you—
¨ come from a nation where English is the “official language,” one of the official languages, a national or commonly spoken language. These include, but are not limited to,
¨ studied in a school or college in which English was the “medium of instruction.”
¨ studied English throughout your school years.
¨ attended or graduated from a
¨ have other English proficiency test scores.
¨ studied ESL or have an ESL certificate from another institution.
If English is not your primary language, you do not need to take the English Language proficiency test if you:
¨ hold a college degree from another
¨ have successfully completed a college-level composition course (ENG 111) from another
¨ have a current (within the last 2 years) TOEFL score of 213 (computer) or 550 (paper) or 80 (iBT) and a”5” on the written test.
