If you are interested in preparing to be an education paraprofessional (also called a "paraeducator" or "teacher's aide"), J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College offers courses leading to the Associate Degree.

If you are already working as a paraprofessional in an area school, you may be interested in various courses to take for professional development, such as mathematics, computer science, history, science, or English.

For more information about services to paraprofessionals, contact Dr. Harriet Morrison Director of the Center for Teacher Education.

Two resources for paraprofessionals are:
>> National Resource Center for Paraprofessionals
>> National Clearinghouse for Paraeducator Resources
