The Community CollegeCareer Coach Project The Community College Career Coaching Project is designed to help local high school students transition successfully into career pathway and transitional programs. It is a collaborative program between the Virginia Community College System and the Virginia Department of Education. Currently, there are 60 career coaches who are community college employees stationed in high schools throughout the Commonwealth. Potential outcomes for the Career Coach project are to increase the number of high school students prepared for a number career pathway programs, community college enrollment in a career and technical field, apprenticeships, employment, and dual enrollment. J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College currently has two Career Coaches in the program stationed at Highland Springs High School and Huguenot High School. Career coaches also utilize other programs and services, such as CAPER and Virginia’s Career Planning powered by Kuder. |
